St Camillus de Lellis

Patron Saint of Nurses, Hospital workers and the Sick.

Feast day on 18 July

In 1586 the ‘company of good men’ obtained the approval of Pope Sixtus V and in 1591 Pope Gregory XIV gave them the status of an Order with the name of ‘Order of the Ministers of the Sick’, a name chosen by the Founder to indicate that its members had to have Christ as their model: ‘I did not come to be served but to serve and give life’. Today the Ministers of the Sick are known throughout the world as the Camillians. The Order is made up of priests and brothers who as religious enjoy equal rights and have the same obligations.

St Camillus had a Vision of Our Lady.  She, the Heavenly designer, gave him the design of the habit she wanted him to wear.  It consisted of a long black cassock with a large red cloth cross in the middle.. The large, red cross on their religious habits which they adopted as a sign of their vocation to medical care, remains a symbol of the Order. Camillians today continue to identify themselves with this emblem on their habits, a symbol universally recognized today as the sign of charity and service.

When he was discourage and at the end of his rope, at the point of almost despairing and giving up, when Jesus came to life on the Cross in his bedroom and spoke to him,

The voice of Christ ask him “Why are you afraid? Do you not realize that this is not your work, but Mine?” It was this message that gave him the strength and confidence needed to open hospitals all over Italy.

St Philomena Chaplet

Feast Day August 11

Patron Saint of Infants, Babies and Youths

Devotion for Philomena began to spread once her bones were exhumed and miracles began to occur. Canon Francesco De Lucia of Mugnano del Cardinale received relics of St. Philomena and had them placed in the Church of Our Lady of Grace in Mugnano, Italy.

Soon after her relics were enshrined, cancers were cured, wounds were healed and the Miracle of Mugnano, when Venerable Pauline Jaricot was cured of a severe heart issue overnight, were all attributed to St. Philomena.

Other Saints began to venerate Philomena and attributing miracles in their lives to the young martyr, including St. John Marie Vianney and St. Peter Louis Marie Chanel.

Although controversy sometimes surrounds the truth behind St. Philomena's life and sainthood, many believers all around the world continue to see her as a miraculous saint, canonized in 1837.

Holy Octave of Consecration to God The Father

1st Sunday of August 2021

New Arrival

The Holy Octave of Consecration to God Our Father involves eight days of prayer, scripture readings, and meditation, as well as participation in the Holy Mass, the Eucharist, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The first seven days serve as preparatory steps leading to the final day of assembly and solemn consecration--The Feast of the Father of All Mankind, which is held on the the 1st Sunday of the month of August.
A chaplet, medal, and litany have been specially designed for the octave approach of this consecration and feast day. All God's children are invited to use the following spiritual practices and format to consecrate themselves to God Our Father. Although the consecration can be done at any time by setting aside an eight-day period (preferably Sunday to Sunday), it is suggested that (1) it be renewed formally each year on the proposed date (an octave ending on the first Sunday of August) and that (2) it be renewed informally each day by praying the chaplet. In addition, the short prayer, "I love You, Father, and I give myself to You" can be prayed throughout the day to help us live our consecration more fully.

Full prayers can be found at https://www.facebook.com/1423260204611148/posts/the-daily-chapletholy-octave-of-consecration-to-god-our-fathera-chaplet-may-be-u/1963264363944060/

Christmas Anticipation Chaplet

This novena is called the St. Andrew novena because it begins on the feast of St. Andrew, on November 30. It is also referred to as the Christmas Anticipation Novena since it is intended to assist us in meditating on the true meaning of Christmas. This novena is meant to be prayed from November 30th to December 24th. While the novena is tied to the Feast of Saint Andrew, it is not actually addressed to Saint Andrew but to God Himself, asking Him to grant our request in honor of the birth of His Son at Christmas. You can say the prayer all 15 times, all at once; or divide up the recitation as necessary (perhaps five times at each meal). This is an unusual prayer for several reasons: first, it is not a novena, nor any permutation of nine. Second, it doesn’t run exactly according to the Advent Season, but rather, each day of December (and the last of November). Third, though it starts on the Feast of St. Andrew the Apostle, no mention is made of that august saint—nor of any saint. If anything, the prayer is highly Christocentric with touches of Mariology—not even St. Joseph is mentioned. Finally, the provenance of the prayer is a mystery, though it’s been said to have gotten going in Ireland about a hundred years ago. The chaplet comes with an option of the Infant Jesus/Star of Bethlehem medal or the St Andrew's medal.

Prayers are available at https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/devotions/christmas-anticipation-prayer-343

It is believed whoever recites this novena prayer FIFTEEN times each day from the feast of St. Andrew (Nov. 30) until Christmas Eve will obtain the favor requested.

Holy Face of Jesus Chaplet

During the 1840's in Tours, France a Carmelite num, Sr. Marie of St. Peter, received a series of revelations for Our Lord about a powerful devotion. He wished to establish worldwide the devotion to his Holy Face. This devotion, as detailed in the book, The Golden Arrow, is a devotion to Our Lord in reparation for the many blasphemies and outrages he endures and for the triumph of the catholic Church over her enemies. Shrove Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday) is he historic feast of the Holy Face of Jesus.

The Chaplet of the Holy face is a chaplet of reparations for sins and is composed of a cross, 39 beads (6 large and 33 small), and a medal of the Holy Face. The Cross calls to mind the mystery of our Redemption. The 33 beads represent the 33 years of the mortal life of Our Lord. The first 30 recall the 30 years of his private life and are divided into 5 sets of 6 beads with the intention of honoring the 5 senses of touch, hearing, sight, smell and taste of Jesus, which have their seat principally in His Holy Face and the the rendering homage to all the sufferings which Our Lord endured in His Face through each of these senses. The last 3 small beads recall the 3 years of public life of our Savior and have for their object the honoring of all the wounds of his adorable Face. The Gloria is repeated 7 times in honor of the 7 last words of Jesus upon the Cross and the 7 Sorrows of the Immaculate Virgin.

The Peace Chaplet aka Medjugorie Chaplet aka The Workers Rosary

*Pray for Peace in the World*

New Arrival

Known as the Worker's Rosary or Peace Chaplet comes from Yugoslavia, now renamed as Croatia. It has been a tradition for over 100 years and had a rapid return to popularity in the early eighties as the Chaplet of Medjugorje.

The Peace Chaplet can be recited every working day. The rosary consists of 22 beads, arranged in seven groups of three beads, and a single bead. You begin by praying the Creed, on the first bead, then pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be on each of the 3 beads respectively.

The seven sections are hugely significant as it is the number of completeness and perfection in the Bible, both physical and spiritual. Seven derives much of its meaning from being tied directly to God’s creation of all things. The word ‘created’ is used 7 times describing God’s creative work (Genesis 1:1, 21, 27 three times; 2:3; 2:4). There are 7 days in a week and God’s Sabbath is on the 7th day. The Bible, as a whole, was originally divided into 7 major divisions. They are 1) the Law; 2) the Prophets; 3) the Writings, or Psalms; 4) the Gospels and Acts; 5) the General Epistles; 6) the Epistles of Paul; and 7) the book of Revelation. The total number of inspired books was forty-nine, or 7 x 7, demonstrating the absolute perfection of the Word of God.

While praying meditate on the issues of world peace, pray for our governmental leadership, pray for understanding, pray for family and friends involved in conflicts or any other matters that touch your heart related to world peace.

It is said that if the ‘Worker’s Rosary’ is prayed from the heart the Blessed Mother will never refuse to hear your petition (https://www.pietystall.co.uk/the-workers-rosary/).

Chaplet of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus

Latest Arrival

The Chaplet of the Precious Blood, also known as the Precious Blood Rosary, is a meditation on the generous love of Jesus, who shed his blood for us. The prayers of the Chaplet was composed in 1809 by Francesco Albertini, who founded the Arch Confraternity of the Precious Blood. This devotion consists of seven mysteries in which we meditate on the seven principal sheddings of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus.  The chaplet itself consists of 33 beads (six sets of five smaller beads each and three on the drop). In all, thirty three in honor of the thirty-three years of Our Lord’s life on earth. It is an excellent way of heightening our awareness of God's presence in difficult and painful situations. It can help us connect our own suffering, the suffering of those we love, and the suffering of our enemies, with the suffering of Christ. Many people who like to pray the rosary every day, pray the Precious Blood Rosary on Fridays, the day when we traditionally meditate on the Passion.

Irish Penal Rosary

An Paidrin Beag

During the time when Henry VIII (1540 till 1731) broke off relations with Rome, Catholics in Ireland were persecuted as the authorities abolished the jurisdiction of the pope and began to demolish Catholic churches and monasteries. These times were known as the 'Penal Times' which was when the Irish Penal Rosaries became popular. As Catholics went underground, this rosary was called the 'underground chaplet' as it was easy to conceal in the palm of one's hand. The ring was moved from the thumb through to the last finger thus completing 5 decades of the rosary.

The above nylon mono-filament strung rosary was designed in 8mm green Howlite Aves and 10mm Jadeite Pater. The penal crucifix with its shorten arms were meant for it to be conveniently kept in one's pocket.

Chaplet of Our Lady of Fatima

for Reparation, Conversion and Adoration

13 May 2020

The 13th day of May, is the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. It was on this day that the Blessed Virgin Mary started her series of apparition to three shepherd children in the small village of Fatima in Portugal in 1917. The Blessed Mother came to the little village of Fatima which had remained faithful to the Catholic Church during the recent oppressions by the government. Our Lady came with a message from God to all. She promised that the whole world would be in peace, and that many souls would go to Heaven if her requests were listened to and obeyed. She requested all followers of her Son Jesus for prayers for peace in Russia and the whole world. She requested for reparation and conversion of hearts.

Let us commit ourselves not only to pray for peace but also to work for peace. Peace begins with each one of us. Peace can happen if we are converted to the Lord and are renewed by the grace of the Spirit. Peace will happen if we become ourselves instruments of God’s mercy and compassion. True devotion to the Blessed Mother of Fatima means turning away from sin and by always following the will of God.

Using the Prayers Taught by the Angel of Peace at Fatima, Portugal, please pray this chaplet as often as you can — anytime, anywhere — especially at times and places where our Holy Triune God is most offended and unloved. Prayers can be found at www.vaticansite.com/the-chaplet-of-our-lady-of-fatima/

Strung in 6mm white jade beads.

Our Lady of Olives

The medal of Our Lady of Olives originated in France and is well known throughout the Church. The original image of Our Lady was a wooden statue that survived destruction of the Church of Murat in Cantal, France caused by a lightning strike. This incident occurred in 1493 and was the beginning of the devotion to Our Lady of Olives.

By virtue of the Medallion of Our Lady of Olives, the persons who carry it are preserved from lightning wherever they may be during a storm. It is a privilege attached to the medallion which bears the unique name in the annals of the church, "Our Lady of Olives". This marvelous way of being protected against lightning deserves to be known throughout the world and ought to be extended to the four corners of the universe. The second privilege of the medallion is to protect, in an unmistakable manner, women who are about to become mothers and to assist them in the hour of deliverance. Those who are afflicted with sickness and who pray to the Divine Mother, are promptly relieved. The Virgin was crowned on June 18, 1881, by an apostolic brief given to Leo XIII on the tenth day of May 1978.

Anglican Prayer Beads

A Form of Contemplative Prayer

Anglican Prayer Beads are a relatively new form of prayer, blending the Orthodox Jesus Prayer Rope and the Roman Catholic Rosary. The thirty-three bead design was created by the Rev. Lynn Bauman in the mid-1980s, through the prayerful exploration and discovery of a contemplative prayer group.

The use of the rosary or prayer beads helps to bring us into contemplative of meditative prayer—really thinking about and being mindful of praying, of being in the presence of God—by use of mind, body, and spirit. The touching of the fingers on each successive bead is an aid in keeping our mind from wandering, and the rhythm of the prayers leads us more readily into stillness.

The configuration of the Anglican Prayer Beads relate contemplative prayer using the Rosary to many levels of traditional Christian symbolism. Contemplative prayer is enriched by these symbols whose purpose is always to focus and concentrate attention, allowing the one who prays to move more swiftly into the Presence of God.

The prayer beads are made up of twenty-eight beads divided into four groups of seven called weeks. In the Judeo-Christian tradition the number seven represents spiritual perfection and completion. Between each week is a single bead, called a cruciform bead as the four beads form a cross. The invitatory bead between the cross and the wheel of beads brings the total to thirty-three, the number of years in Jesus’ earthly life.

This full version comes with the Resurrection bead (second small bead after the cross). It can be customized to be omitted if desired.

The above prayer beads are designed with 6mm wood grain jasper and 8mm Lapis Lazuli beads.

Silver plated Celtic circle cross is 2cm in diameter.
